Kindergarten Registration
The kindergarten registration for the 2008-09 school year with the Stoneham Public Schools will take place from Tuesday, January 22‚ thru Friday, January 25, 2008.
Parents will need to provide a copy of the following documentation in order to complete registration:
•Proof of Residency
•Child's Birth Certificate
a. lease or mortgage statement; and
b. a utility bill
•Child's Current Medical Record including updated vaccinations.
In addition to the traditional 2-1/2 day Kindergarten program, a tuition-based full-day kindergarten program will also be offered in September 2008 at each of the four elementary schools in Stoneham ‚or in as many schools as student registrations will allow. If the parental response in any elementary district is not great enough to offer the program, parents will be given the option of enrolling their child in another elementary district based on availability and balancing of class sizes.
This program will be staffed by Stoneham kindergarten teachers who will offer an expanded full-day kindergarten curriculum. Class sizes will be targeted at an optimal twenty students. Students will remain with the same group and same teacher for the entire school day‚-six hours per day, five days per week. The annual tuition charge is $3,500. A $450 deposit will be due upon registration. The balance of the tuition may be paid in four installments: $425 on the first of August, $875 on the first of November, February and April.
